Important legislation has been introduced in the United States Senate recently. On May 11, 2009 Senator Tom Harkin (D), IA, introduced Senate Bill 1019 (The Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act) to allow a credit against income tax for the purchase of hearing aids. This bill would be of great financial utility to the millions of Americans – seniors and otherwise – who need hearing help, but find it difficult to afford.
