The Audiology Education
For those interested in pursuing a career in audiology, the current educational requirement is rigourous. To practice today, audiologists must earn a doctorate degree in audiology known as the Au.D. degree. This education includes four years of undergraduate training, and an additional four years of post-graduate training. Generally, the final year of post-graduate training is heavily weighted toward internship clinical work at hospitals and/or audiology practices.
There are currently 74 universities in the United States offering Au.D. programs. To learn more, go to http://www.audiology.org/education/students/programs/Pages/default.aspx
