Teen Torture…scary name for a hearing app

February 03, 2011 @ 09:00 PM — by David Smirga, M.A.

Those rock concerts we all once loved and enjoyed in our teens is not exactly too friendly for hearing.  Music is loud, fun and well a bit damaging when the decibels are turned up too high.

Many parents worry that their teens are going to lose their hearing because “they listen to that Hip Hop music too dang loud.” Ok…so what makes this app different is the fact that people who are younger, mainly teens and children are able to hear high frequencies that most adults cannot hear. This app tests for these high frequencies, that way one can test their teens hearing in relation to what a particular age should be hearing.

What makes this app pretty cool is that only people under 25 years old can hear the noises coming out of an android phone with this app.  Think high frequency mosquito noises, teens might even get a kick out of hearing something their parents can definitely not hear. Click here to view Teen Torture and be surprised by this fun and interesting new hearing app.
