Holiday Hearing Aid Giveaways Popular Among Audiologists
The holidays are a special time of giving and the audiology industry has embraced the seasonal sentiment with open ears. Many companies and private organizations offer giveaways for those in need of hearing care.

One such giveaway is being sponsored in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - in the form of a community essay contest. Presented by The Audiology Department at Greater Milwaukee Otolaryngology, the new contest asks participants to submit written statements as to why they or a family member could use a hearing device. The winner will receive a complementary, premium hearing aid.
Contestants may submit their essay between November 28th and December 30th to: Greater Milwaukee Otolaryngology, LLC ATTN: Audiology Department (Essay Contest) 4600 W. Loomis Road, Suite. 201 Greenfield, WI 53220
A similar event was organized by Palomar Pomerado Health in Mississippi, who held their “seventh annual Hear for the Holidays program” this year, and “which [also sought to award] a free pair of hearing aids to the winner of an essay contest.” Hearing for the Holidays was originally created in 2005 in response to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina to help those who could not afford medical care at that time. Winners are historically selected based on financial need, degree of hearing loss and quality of writing.
While the Palomar’s essay contest ended on December 2nd - there is still time to register for the Milwaukee contest or start a similar tradition at your private practice! Happy holiday hearing everyone!
