UK Newscaster Fears Earpiece May Have Caused Permanent Damage

Concerns were raised this weekend by one of Britain’s best-known television presenters, Anne Diamond. The thirty-year veteran has spoken out publicly claiming that her work mandated hearing device has caused deafness in one ear. The reality of her condition is now brining renewed interest in the region to hearing health.

While the damage from the “talk-back” device, which allows cross communications between producers and those on camera, has not yet required her to acquire a hearing aid for daily use- she has been instructed to address her condition immediately. As such, Ms.Diamond is working with the online Charity: Action On Hearing Loss to raise awareness about hearing aids and hearing health.

According to Ms.Daimond “around four million people in the UK have some form of hearing loss and would benefit from a hearing aid – but don’t do anything about it.” Clearly Ms.Diamond is using her own misfortune to help others, especially those associated with the charity of which she has partnered. An major advocate for the organization, “Ms Diamond explained that the charity could be a huge help to those suffering from deafness,” [as they] provide a simple, free hearing check that you can do in your own home.” Additionally, they will “explain what to expect from your doctor” which “makes the whole world of hearing aids” quite simple, accessible and worry free.
